The 5 winners - one for each category in the competition: painting, sculpture and installation, video and performance, photographic art, digital and virtual art - will win a cash prize of 7,000 Euros each.

Several innovations have been introduced for the special awards: "Innovative Interactive Tour on Telecom Italia's Future Centre": this year sees the strengthening of the relationship with the Telecom Italia Future Centre, which in addition to exhibiting the finalists from the virtual art section, is going to award 5,000 Euros for the implementation of a project for the innovative tourist use of its spaces.

"Artist in Residence": it has always been the strong point of the Arte Laguna Prize, and this year the art residencies become 6, through the addition of two new partners. Next to the Glass School Abate Zanetti of Murano, the Slovenian festival Art Stays, the marble company Miramarmi of Vicenza and the residency in Mumbai, the new entries are the historic Artistic Foundry Battaglia of Milan and the collaboration with the city of Nuremberg that features a cultural exchange between Venetian and German artists.

"Business for Art": Riva 1920,a renown furniture company based in Cantù, enters the network of Arte Laguna. Through the Arte Laguna Prize artists are invited to submit their ideas for the creation of an object in Venetian briccola wood. The item will be presented at Salone del Mobile in Milan in April 2014.

"Artist in Gallery": the 8th Arte Laguna Prize inaugurates a new form of collaboration with the galleries. No longer 20, but 4, carefully selected and exclusively international galleries: ART re.FLEX in St. Petersburg, Galerie Charlot in Paris, Carlos Carvalho in Lisbon, Exhibit320 in New Delhi. The galleries will choose the artist with whom they will set up an exhibition to be accompanied by a grant of 500 Euros and a catalogue.

Besides, during the summer of 2014, the ten finalist art videos will be screened in Beijing, in collaboration with Art Nova 100, and one work from the sculpture and installation section will be exhibited at Venice Lido, during the Venice Film Festival, within the event Open 2014.
