LITIX was born from the experience in marble processing of its two partners, Giacomo Massari and Filippo Tincolini, who founded TORART in 2004 in Carrara, followed by ROBOTOR. Both companies have merged into LITIX SpA, which made its debut on the Euronext Growth Milan stock exchange in July 2024. TORART an artistic workshop specialising in the creation of sculptures, contemporary works of art and design; ROBOTOR designs and assembles anthropomorphic robots for multi-axis milling. Jeff Koons, Barry x Ball, Francesco Vezzoli, Vanessa Beecroft, Giuseppe Penone, Zaha Hadid, Maurizio Cattelan and many others have turned and continue to turn to Torart.

Along with them, also important museums and large companies have used and use Torart for the reproduction of works of art from the past that have had an impact on media around the world. ROBOTOR robots are used by artists and laboratories all over the world.

During the 14-day artistic residency in Carrara, the selected artist will have the opportunity to create his own work in marble by exploring and experiencing the entire process that combines tradition and technological innovation.

The program inlcudes:

• Study and research: In-depth study of the tradition of marble sculpture, visit to the academy Fine Arts and visit the quarries of Carrara.
• Support in creating the artistic project
• Creation of the sketch
• Digitalization: Transformation of the sketch in a 3D model with a dedicated software
• Robotic process: Application of the software OR-OS and use of robots to mill the work
• Handmade details: Learning of the traditional techniques to refine and create the details
• Packaging techniques

This path will allow the artist to acquire technical skills and experience in first the meeting between classical  sculpture and advanced technology.
