ASEM Italy OdV | Mozambique

ASEM is an association founded in Switzerland in 1991 by Barbara Hofmann, to launch initiatives to support the children of Mozambique, at that time mainly orphans due to the civil war in progress in the country and/or who have left their family because they had no possibility of maintaining them.

To publicise the activities and raise funds, Barbara Hofmann has founded other ASEM associations in Italy, Portugal and Canada. He then founded the ASEM Mozambique Association which, with a management all Mozambican, manages the interventions in the Centres of Beira, Vilankulo and Gorongosa, Where over almost 30 years more than 180,000 children have been assisted for their first needs of shelter and food and have been helped to grow up for a better future.

In 2024, at ASEM Mozambique schools in Beira and Vilankulo, some 6,000 children received primary and secondary education, 600 others were supported to attend professional courses in external schools and 10 young people were assisted for university studies.
Thanks to the generosity of many donors, these children and young people have the opportunity to build a better future.
