Mohammad Al-Hemd | Art Stays Festival

For 16 years, Arte Laguna Prize has been pursuing the mission of creating international connections thanks to a network of partners all over the world. The goal is to increase a system that allows artists, discovered by the jury of experts, to exhibit in Venice and then to continue their journey of professional growth thanks to the international partnerships that the Cultural Association MoCA, founder of Arte Laguna Prize, continues to offer every year.

ART STAY Festival is one of the examples that testify the value of this network. The collaboration with ART STAYS has continued for 10 years. 10 of the finalist artists of Arte Laguna Prize have exhibited in Ptuj, one of the most important Slovenian cities for cultural liveliness, and were able to create site specific installations contributing to enhance the most famous cultural sites of the city.

The theme represented at this edition of ART STAYS is STRUCTURA, a theme that reveals the desire to reflect not on individual aspects but on relationships, on connections between things, man and nature and the works of the artist Mohammad Al-Hemd, finalist at the 14th edition of Arte Laguna Prize, fit into this theme. His works start from conceptual elements and turn into elegant illusions that address controversial but pressing current issues that push the visitor to reflect on contemporary ideas.

The works of Mohammad Al-Hemd will be exhibited at the main venue of the Festival, the Ptuj City Gallery from 8 July to 18 September 2021.

The artist will then exhibit in Venice, at the Arsenale Nord, from 2 to 24 October his work Wrecking ball during the collective exhibition of the finalists of Arte Laguna Prize 14+15.
