Description
The oriental woodcut pattern of “Welcome To The New Age” is combined with contrasting and harmonious colours. The separate top and bottom wood panel structure allows for a headdress-like landscape to be cut above the figure’s back as a clue to the subject. Using the negative colours produced by the electronic screen treatment, a crown-like pyramid appears, positioned above the classic politician figure below. The image of the television test card is placed on the background of the figure as if a tense and distorted speech is being delivered in this frame-made screen.
