Description
‘The Taste of the Kiss” is a surreal representation of a kiss between two lovers. The title of the painting contains two meanings. The bursting anthropomorphic subjects, depicted in warm, vivid colours, contrast with the background created in sombre colours. Framing the ice cream heads is a black rectangle that, recalling the shape of a screen, traps the subjects and gives the figures greater staticity. Decomposition, recomposition with a jump in scale are combined to create an effect of disquiet and at the same time of astonishment and mystery.
