Igor Zanti | Arte Laguna Prize


Igor Zanti was born in 1973 in Milan. He graduated in modern literature at the University of Milan with a thesis on the Medieval and Modern Art History about painting in fifteenth century in Lombardia.
For several years he carries out different activities as a critic and curator of contemporary art and applied arts exhibitions, in collaboration with private galleries, institutional spaces in Italy and abroad. Since 2006 is curator and head of the jury of interational Arte Laguna Prize.
Artist consultant for Undergallery cultural association in Daverio (Varese) and for the International Art Club in Lugano. In 2008 he was the artistic director of the Brolo Museum – Art and Culture Centre in Mogliano Veneto (Treviso). In early 2008, he conceived the project New Art for defining and promoting the New Pop movement in Italy. He was the curator of 2009 and 2010 editions of Ceres for Art prize. In 2010 he was the co-curator of the international fair AAM supported by Arte Ispe Dixit of Como and Geneva. At the beginning of 2011, on behalf of MAE, of the Italian Embassy in India and the Italian Cultural Institute in New Delhi he was the curator of the Dadaumpop, a retrospective of italian neo pop, exhibited in Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi. He works on promotional project of Indian art and Italian art in collaboration with Kanchi Metha, curator of the Indian Pavillion at th Prague Biennale.He teaches Visual Communication and Contemporary Art Phenomenology at the IED College of Milan. He writes on Espoarte magazine, on Lobodilattice webzine and collaborates with InsideArt Magazine. Since 2013 he is the IED Venezia director.

Andreatta | Artelaguna


Filippo Andreatta (Rovereto, IT, 1981) graduated in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano (BA) and in Performing and Visual Arts at IUAV University of Venice (MA). In 2008, he has established Office for a Human Theatre [OHT] and was the first theatre director in the world to bring on stage Delirious New York, the cult book of contemporary architecture by Rem Koolhaas. His collaborations include among the others Haydn Foundation, RomaEuropa Festival, NYC Artists Salon (US), Transart Festival Bozen, Short Theatre Festival Rome, Whitechapel Gallery (UK), MAXXI museum Rome, Palazzo Grassi Venice and ABC Art Basic for Children Brussels (BE).
Filippo Andreatta has been honoured with awards for artistic excellence, including Nuove Sensibilità for young theatre directors (2008), twice Movin’Up award for young artists (2016 and 2017) and OPER.A 20.21 Fringe (2017). Furthermore, he has been lecturing in universities and museums including Politecnico di Milano, NABA New academy of Visual Arts Milan, Cattolica University, MART museum, IED venice and University of Genoa.

Arensi | ArteLaguna


Flavio Arensi (Milan, 1975) is a journalist and art critic. He directs the Legnano spaces and is responsible for the exhibition activities of the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona. He directed the Sofà cultural magazine of Editalia Treccani Group and collaborated with several national newspapers. He has curated numerous monographic exhibitions in public spaces, including those dedicated to Rodin (Legnano 2010, Milan and Rome, 2013), Ensor, Kollwitz, Matta, Cremonini, Music, Cragg, Perez, Berengo Gardin, Toscani, Paladino (of which he curates also the archive) and the recent retrospective of Giosetta Fioroni. In 2018 he curated the exhibition activities of the Project Room of the Pomodoro Foundation in Milan. He is in the board of directors of the Federica Galli Foundation, the Valentino Vago Archive, the Leonardo Cremonini Archive. He teaches Curatorial methodology at the Galli Academy in Como.

Femia | ArteLaguna


Alfonso Femia was born in Taurianova, Reggio Calabria (Italy) on 1966, December the 7th. He lives in Genoa from where he is leaving on a unique and continuous “back and forth” journey between Genoa, Milan and Paris.
He graduated from the University of Genoa – School of Architecture in 1992 and has been registered at the Register of Architects of Genoa since 1994, the Register of Architects of Île-de-France since 1995 and the Architects of Switzerland.
He has been a Professor of Architectural Design Didactics at Kent State University in Florence and at the Universities of Ferrara and Genoa.
Being the founder of 5+1 in 1995, he created 5+1AA in 2005 and 5+1AA sas Paris in 2007.
He has won numerous international competitions and his work is published on international magazines. He has been a visiting Professor in the main Italian and international universities.
In 2015, he founded 500×100 and created 500x100Talk, “the city as a dialogue tool”, a place of meetings and exchanges on the theme of the city, structured in two formats conducted by the journalist Giorgio Tartaro: the SetTalk in Milan and the CityTalk in the main European and Mediterranean cities.
Alfonso Femia developed a “research around matter” which leads him to collaborate in design projects with international companies. With AFdesign*, he deepens the themes related to ceramics, light, wood, glass, cardboard and biodynamic cement. The three-dimensional design of ceramics and its application to architecture led him to create products that characterize the recent residential projects in Paris, Brescia, and the new BNL-BNP Paribas headquarters in Rome. Together with the artist Danilo Trogu and his magical poetry, Alfonso Femia develops a “Mediterranean Bestiary” in ceramics, which animate the Marseilles Docks, the Great Railways Workshops in Turin and the Asnières-sur-Seine housing around Paris.
In 2017, he transforms the denomination of 5+1AA in AF517 or Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia and creates the “Entre Deux”, an in-depth format on the metamorphosis of the cities. He loves odd numbers, the South and a crew of women and men who, since 1995, have believed in this “journey” aimed to explore and experience the world through the architectural project and the meeting with the cities, all with a smile and new fellow travelers: “the whale and her star”. Givelli | ArteLAguna


Mattias Givell is the Co-Director of Wanås Konst, a sculpture park and collection of outdoor installations by international artists in the south of Sweden. Trained as photographer, graphic designer and project manager, Mattias graduated in History of Art in 1985 at the University of Stockholm while also working as studio assistant for the swedish photographer Christer Strömholm. From 1989 to 1993 he studied at the College of Art in the department of Photography and Sculpture. For many years he has worked as freelance graphic designer and art director. Before becoming the co-director of Wanås Konst in 2011, he was the Project Manager and Art Director of Bonnier Konsthall, Sweden.

Gonzales | ArteLaguna


Eva González-Sancho, curator, is concerned with defining new formats and conditions for the production and display of art with a particular emphasis on art practices in public space. She is co-curator of the first Oslo Biennial (alongside Per Gunnar Eeg-Tverbakk), which will open on May 2019, and was preceded by a pre-project —OSLO PILOT— a research-based initiative carried out between 2015-2017. González-Sancho has been director and curator of several art institutions and initiatives: MUSAC, Leon (ES) [2013]; FRAC Bourgogne, Dijon (FR) [2003-2011]; and Etablissement d’en face projects (Brussels, 1998-2003). She has curated numerous exhibitions or projects, often involving the production of new work, with artists including Armando Andrade Tudela, Sven Augustijnen, Guillaume Leblon, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Lara Almarcegui, Ann Böttcher, Jonas Dahlberg, Katrin Sigurdardottir, Knut Åsdam, Peter Downsbrough, Gayen Gerber, Rita McBride, Koenraad Dedobeeleer, Stefan Brüggemann, and Dora García. She was also co-curator of Lofoten International Art Festival (LIAF) 2013 (with Anne Szefer Karlsen and Bassam El Baroni). and curator of Dora García: Where characters go when the story is over? (CGAC, Centro Gallego de Arte Contemporáneo, Spain, 2009).

Noyce | ArteLaguna


Richard Noyce is a renowned British writer, scholar and art critic, known especially for his important international role in the world of printmaking. He writes and speaks regularly on the visual arts and, in addition to many reviews and articles published in British and European magazines, he has written several books on contemporary painting, graphic arts, and printmaking, such as Contemporary Painting in Poland (1995), Contemporary Graphic Art in Poland (1997), Printmaking at the Edge (2006), Critical Mass: Printmaking Beyond the Edge (2006, reprinted 2008, 2010, 2013), Printmaking Off the Beaten Track (2013).
He was awarded the 1996 AAASS/Orbis Polish Book Prize and is an experienced international competition juror, serving as President of the Awards Jury at the Kraków International Print Triennial, 2003, 2006, 2009 as well being a juror for numerous other international print and drawing biennials and triennials.
He has been a visiting professor and lecturer in a number of universities in North America, Europe and Asia. He is a regular contributor to Printmaking Today and is the Contributing Editor (Europe) for the Art Bahrain.

Pallotta | Arte Laguna


Independent curator, since 2006 he has been working both in integrated public art projects and in crossover cultural projects. He was born in 1979 in Rome, he grew up in the Writing field and formed as an art historian, he decided to mix his urban art knowledge with his humanistic studies ideating and creating projects in which art and cities collaborate for a cultural innovation.
He curated and realised projects with some of the most important international urban artists: Blu, Momo, Agostino Iacurci, Borondo, Aryz, 108, Edoardo Tresoldi e Sten & Lex.
In 2014 he curated his first indoor exhibition: From Street to Art, the first group exhibition of Italian urban artists at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York dedicated to the discovery of the deep diversities and the different personalities of the national artistic scene.
The project that best represents Simone Pallotta is SANBA, ideated in San Basilio headquarter in Rome from 2014 to 2016.
He realised public art projects in the high security section of Rebibbia jail in Rome and for the Presidency of the Council he created art projects in 10 Italian schools to mark the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation over Nazi-Fascism.
He curated projects of urban creativity for the Municipalities of Rome, Civitavecchia and Turin.
He wrote for contemporary art magazines and he is one of the founders of Carlo Battaglia Foundation.
In Summer 2016 he wrote the critic text and he curated the installation of Edoardo Tresoldi in Manfredonia, the wire mesh artwork which represents the ancient early Christian Basilica in Siponto. Thanks to this work, in 2017, the prestigious Forbes magazine nominated the artist as one of the “30 under 30 influencers” in the art category.
Since September 2016 he has been collaborating with Circus, in Milan, a reality born as a society for photographic services which now aims for the fusion between the profit world and social cultural projects.

Premoli | ArteLaguna


Danilo Premoli graduated in Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan where he then completed his Master in Design & Management. He deals with design and art; his works have been selected for art and design exhibitions and published in catalogues and magazines. He won the Smau Icograda Excellence Award and the Accent on Design at the International Gift Fair of New York. He is a member of the Scientific Committee for the final selection of ADI Design Index 2018 and 2019 for the Compasso d’Oro 2020. He is the author of “Interview. Dieci anni dopo. Il progetto ufficio all’inizio del nuovo millennio”, 22publishing; and co-author of “WorkWideWords. Le parole del progetto”, Alberto Greco Editore, which has been adopted by the Faculty of Architecture of the Tongji University in Shanghai. For the publisher La Grande Illusion he wrote “Giallo enigmistico”, Milan, 2014. He conceived, designed and managed the Office Observer blog, dedicated to the office and contract sectors and part of the Observer Network. He works with several design newspapers and magazines, both online and offline. Teaching experiences at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Naba, Domus Academy.

Stefanelli | Arte Laguna


Enrico Stefanelli is a photographer, journalist, curator and teaches photography in workshops. He was the founder and, for 7 years, the artistic director of the international festival of photography and video art “Lucca Photo Fest” which was established in 2005 and currently the founder and artistic director of Photolux Festival the biennial of photography in Lucca. He has conceived “Faces – Portraits in the 20th Century” exhibition and curated several exhibitions at the Lucca Photo Fest such as Tim Hetherington “Battle Company”, Gianni Berengo Gardin “ L’Aquila”, Nobuyoshy Araki “Polaroid”, David Douglas Duncan “This is Picasso”, Vivian Maier: an itinerary from The United States to Champsaur. He has conceived and co-curated the exhibition I-ΣMIGRAZIONI Since 2010 he is the Italian curator of Epea (www.epeaphoto.org), European Photo Exhibition Award, a project for the development of young talents in photography developed in collaboration with four European foundations: Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca (Italy), the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Portugal), the Fritt Ord Foundation (Norway) and the Körber-Stiftung (Germany). He curated the exhibition “Cadets” of Paolo Verzone for “Les Rencontres de la Photographie” in Arles. He has written articles and contributions on photography for several catalogs, books and magazines. He’s member of the Nominating committee for the Joop Swart Masterclass and “ 6 x 6” at World Press Photo Foundation and of the Board of Trustee of The Manuel Ortiz Rivera-The Foundation For Documentary Film & Photography. Tiddia | Arte Laguna


Alessandra Tiddia was born in Bolzano. She graduated in 1989 in History of Contemporary Art at the University of Padua with a thesis dedicated to the figurative culture of Mitteleuropa in the former Hapsburg provinces, a theme that she had the chance to deepen during her PhD in History of Contemporary Art at the University of Venice. From 1990 to 1993 she worked as a freelance curator in Trieste, at the Revoltella Museum, collaborating also with the Culture office of the Municipality of Trieste in projects dedicated mainly to the mitteleuropean culture of the turn of the century. Since 1993 she works as curator and art historian at the Mart Museum in Rovereto, where until 2010 she was responsible for the Palazzo delle Albere in Trento: in this context she created the project of the permanent exhibition of the Mart collections between the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. From 2004 to 2010 she curated the exhibition planning of this venue with exhibitions dedicated to the figurative culture of the turn of the century (Max Klinger. Sogni e segreti di un simbolista, Franz von Stuck. Lucifero moderno, Il Secolo dell’Impero. Principi, artisti e borghesi nell’Ottocento, Sulle tracce di Maurice Denis. Simbolismi ai confini dell’impero asburgico. Landesausstellung 2007).
In 2010 she co-curated the general catalogue of Gastone Novelli and in 2015 she edited the catalogue dedicated to Piero Marussig. She worked with some foreign institutions such as the Belvedere and Leopold Museum of Vienna, the National Gallery of Budapest, the Ateneum Museum of Helsinki, Villa Stuck in Munich for several exhibition projects. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Civic Museum of Bolzano, of the Accademia degli Agiati of Rovereto and of the Società di Studi Trentini in Trento. From 2013 she is responsible for the project Segantini e Arco, promoted jointly by Mart, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto and by MAG (Museo Alto Garda, Galleria Segantini).
She is currently working as chief-curator at Mart and she takes care of exhibition and research projects related to the themes of Modernity.

Vasili | Arte Laguna


Vasili Tsereteli was born in 1978 in Tbilisi, Georgia. After graduating from United Nations International School, New York in 1996, Tsereteli studied at the New York School of Visual Art and then Parsons School of Design. In 2002, Tsereteli was appointed Executive Director of MMOMA. Later in 2007, 2009, he worked as commissioner of the Russian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
Vasili Tsereteli is Vice President of the Russian Academy of Arts, member of the Presidium of ICOM, a member of the Kandinsky Prize jury and the Sergei Kuryokhin Prize jury, a member of the organizing committee of the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art. In 2012, Tsereteli was awarded the Cross of the Order of the King of Spain “For Civil Services”. He was named Knight of The French Order of Arts and Letters (2015), Officer of the Order of Isabella the Catholic (2016). In 2018, Tsereteli was awarded the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” II class.

Zoller | Arte Laguna


Maxa Zoller works as curator for film at Art Basel. She recently has been appointed the Artistic Director of the International Women’s Film Festival Dortmund | Cologne. Before that she has lectured at the American University in Cairo.
Zoller has presented various experimental film screenings in London and beyond; for instance Tate Modern, South London Gallery, no.w.here, the Munich Filmmuseum and the Centre of Contemporary Art in Geneva. In 2014 she co-curated a major solo exhibition of Anthony McCall at EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam. A former lecturer at Goldsmiths College and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Maxa Zoller developed a keen interest in alternative pedagogical tools; she created the workshop series The Cinematic Body for the artist-run space no.w.here in London where she also led the first edition of the summer school in 2012. In her writings for MIT, IB Tauris, JRP-Ringier and Hatje Verlag she covered topics ranging from post-socialist identity discourse and feminism to her academic expertise; the history of Western avant-garde and experimental film, its contexts of exhibition and its historiography. Her current research focuses on the sculpture workshop of the Egyptian modernist artist Habib Gorgi.
